This Slavic sound weave was present in the cultures of Slavic nations, including the Slovene folk musical mindset, until the Atomic Era. It holds a special place in the mosaic of the musical languages and cultures of the world. Beseda ša-man je indoevropskega izvora. ŠA pomeni modrost, MAN pa človek. Šaman je torej modri človek. Tisti, ki obvladuje ‒ teoretično in praktično ‒ kozmične in zemeljske zakone. Zakone življenja. Zvok glasbil, ki jih uporablja, mu daje krila, zalet in navdih. S šamanskimi bobni se povezuje z vesoljem, zvezdami, Soncem, Luno, Zemljo in živimi bitji. Z izbranimi ritmi ureja disharmonije v ljudeh in okolju ter na zvočnih valovih jezdi onkraj. Onkraj zamejitev uma, časa, prostora, materialnega sveta … Z glasbili, ki jih šaman uporablja, izraža tudi radost in trenutni navdih. Glasbeniki ansambla Vedun s svojimi šamanskimi bobni iz Sibirije in Afrike koncertno podoživljajo starodavno šamansko zvočno prakso ‒ napajanje z zvoki radosti in življenjsko energijo.
The word sha-man is of Indo-European origin. SHA means wisdom and MAN is a man. The Shaman is therefore a wise man. The one who controls – theoretically and practically – the cosmic and terrestrial laws. The laws of life. The sound of the musical instruments he uses, gives him wings, strength and inspiration. With shaman drums he connects with the Universe, the stars, the Sun, the Moon, the Earth and the living beings. With selected rhythms he puts the disharmony – in humans and in the environment – in order. And he rides on the sound waves beyond. Beyond the delineation of the mind, time, space, and material world… With music instruments the Shaman also expresses joy and spontaneous inspiration. At their concerts, the Vedun Ensemble’s musicians relive the ancient shamanic sound practice – charging with sounds of happiness and life energy.
