Abduction of Baltazar Sponge

Story of the Krakow’s famous Wawel Castle Dragon (Smok Wawelski), who is on mission to the „Land of the Raincoats” to rescue professor Baltazar Sponge (Baltazar Gąbka). In this dangerous journey, the dragon is accompanied by the cook and friend Bartłomiej Bartolini. Our friends are followed by Don Pedro, a spy from the „Land of the Raincoats”. 13 short animated films originally made for Polish television recommended for Polish language training for children.

The Abduction of Balthazar Sponge Porwanie Baltazara Gąbki
  1. Dragon Expedition – King Krak sends the Wawel Castle Dragon and his cook Bartholomew Bartolini to search for Professor Sponge, who has disappeared in the Land of the Raincoats.
  2. In the Robbers’ Camp – The Wawel Castle Dragon and the cook meet some rather strange robbers who invite them to their camp and give them a sack full of money as a good bye present.
  3. The „Jolly Monster” Inn – The Wawel Castle Dragon and Bartolini the Cook arrive at an inn. Don Pedro, in disguise, wrecks their car.
  4. The Milk Drinking Dragon – The Wawel Castle Dragon and Bartolini the cook reach the Milk Drinking Dragon’s lair. Don Pedro frightens them off by playing a tape of the dragon’s frightful roars.
  5. In the Land of King Sunshine – The Wawel Castle Dragon and Bartolini the cook arrive in the land of King Sunshine. He is not at all pleased with them as they are the only non sunburned creatures in his kingdom.
  6. The Escape – King Sunshine is talked into imprisoning the Dragon and Bartolini by Don Pedro. He orders them to sun bathe. However, in the night, they manage to escape.
  7. In the Land of Bo-Bo – Professor Sponge and his companions arrive in the land of the sullen Hippopotamus. The expedition now makes its homeward journey through the Land of the Raincoats.
  8. Across Three Seas – The Dragon and Bartolini are making their way across the sea. The swordfish saws through their petrol tank and Don Pedro sabotages their raft. However the Dragon manages to save his friend.
  9. Across The Land of the Raincoats – The Dragon and the Cook are speeding through the Land of the Raincoats, in a car. The cunning Don Pedro tries to sabotage their journey. Luckily they manage to avoid his traps.
  10. The Conquest of the Palace – The Dragon and Bartolini the cook capture the palace in the Land of the Raincoats. However professor Sponge is not there, so they move on to look for him further.
  11. The Night Battle – The Dragon and the Cook free the abducted professor from the hands of a ferocious monster.
  12. Don Pedro – Don Pedro is in a perilous situation, the Dragon and Bartolini come to his aid. He swears that he will never again threaten their lives.
  13. In the Direction of Cracow – The expedition and the professor who has been found set off for Cracow. The Dragon changes the car into an airplane and they all happily return to King Krak’s city.

  1. Smok Expedition – Książę Krak wysyła Smoka Wawelskiego wraz z kucharzem Bartłomiejem Bartolinim na poszukiwanie profesora Baltazara Gąbki, który zaginął w Krainie Deszczowców.
  2. W zbójeckim obozie – Smok Wawelski i kucharz Bartolini spotykają dziwnych zbójców, którzy goszczą ich u siebie i na pożegnanie obdarowują jeszcze workiem pieniędzy.
  3. Oberża „Pod Wesołym Karakonem” – Smok Wawelski i kucharz Bartolini zjawiają się w oberży Pod Wesołym Karakonem. Don Pedro w przebraniu niszczy im samochód.
  4. Spotkanie ze smokiem Mlekopijem – Smok Wawelski i kucharz Bartolini docierają do siedziby smoka Mlekopija. Dostaje się tam także Don Pedro, który puszczając z taśmy ryk smoka płoszy skutecznie przybyszy.
  5. W krainie Króla Słoneczko – Smok Wawelski i kucharz Bartolini przybywają do kraju Króla Słoneczko, który ma im za złe, że są jedynymi nieopalonymi stworzeniami w jego państwie.
  6. Ucieczka – Król Słoneczko namówiony przez Don Pedra więzi Smoka Wawelskiego i kucharza Bartoliniego i każe im się opalać. Pojmanym udaje się jednak w nocy uciec.
  7. W krainie Bo-Bo – Profesor Gąbka wraz z towarzyszącymi mu osobami dociera do krainy Gburowatego Hipopotama. Stąd ekspedycja wyrusza drogę powrotną przez kraj Deszczowców.
  8. Przez trzy morza – Smok i kucharz Bartolini płyną przez morze. Ryba-piła przecina im zbiornik z paliwem. Don Pedro niszczy tratwę, ale Smok ratuje przyjaciela z opresji.
  9. Przez kraj Deszczowców – Kucharz Bartolini i Smok Wawelski pędzą samochodem przez kraj Deszczowców. Złośliwy Don Pedro zastawia na nich pułapki, oni jednak szczęśliwie je omijają.
  10. Zdobycie pałacu – Smok i kucharz Bartolini w poszukiwaniu profesora Gąbki zdobywają pałac w stolicy kraju Deszczowców. Profesora nie ma tu jednak, więc ruszają dalej na poszukiwania.
  11. Nocna bitwa – Kucharz Bartolini i Smok Wawelski uwalniają w trakcie nocnej bitwy porwanego wcześniej Baltazara Gąbkę z rąk groźnego Wir-Siąpawicy.
  12. Don Pedro – Smok i kucharz Bartolini ratują z opresji Don Pedra, który z wdzięczności przyrzeka, że już nie będzie czynił zamachów na życie swoich wybawców.
  13. Kierunek Kraków – Ekspedycja wraz z odnalezionym profesorem Gąbką wraca do Krakowa. Smok przekształca samochód na samolot i z jego pomocą wszyscy szczęśliwie powracają do stolicy Kraka.
